HEIN exists because good health shouldn't depend on how easily you can access it — and for too many Global Majority and racially minoritised communities, access is exactly where the system breaks down.
Language barriers. Digital exclusion. Isolation. A justified mistrust built from being let down before. These aren't side issues — they're the reason people don't get health support they're already entitled to. We work directly alongside communities to find and remove them.
We're not a clinical service. We're the bridge: the difference between a service existing and someone actually being able to reach it, understand it, and be heard by it.

Understanding Health Inequalities
HEIN helps organisations better understand the complex social, economic and environmental factors that influence health outcomes. Through research, health equity intelligence and community-informed evidence, HEIN generates meaningful insights that support evidence-based action to reduce health inequalities and improve population health.

Health Equity Intelligence
HEIN supports public bodies, health and care organisations, charities and communities by generating health equity intelligence, undertaking research and evaluation, and providing evidence that helps identify health inequalities, understand their underlying causes, and inform evidence-based action to improve health outcomes and reduce avoidable disparities.

Community-Led Insight
HEIN promotes community-informed approaches to understanding health inequalities by ensuring that community voices, lived experience and local knowledge inform research, health equity intelligence and decision-making. The charity works collaboratively with communities, particularly those experiencing health inequalities, to generate evidence that supports advocacy, service improvement and better health outcomes.
